She is obviously the kind of performer who likes her lyrics to be heard and the message in each song is clearly articulated. Each one takes you on a melodic, themed journey, or gives an insight into a character that has presented themselves as an appropriate musical muse. The tempo varies between more upbeat, feelgood tracks, and songs that have an endearing melancholic quality. Several of the songs, like 'Beautiful Day' in particular, will have you singing along pretty much the first time you hear them. 4/5 stars' . |
