| "Freetown" is the capital of Sierra Leone, where the liberated slaves of the 18th century joined to promote and live in freedom. Freetown is a roots project from Sydney which aims to honour that original ideal. The three piece, consisting of drums, sax and strings, enters high and low tempo realms of musical art that are diverse in genre, often created through impulse jamming. Freetown being the place that is subsequently reached. While expressing humane and provocative lyrics that compliment the sound, the most important thing is to turn up the volume and enjoy a trip to Freetown, "the real ideal". |
